• 12 medium-sized eggs
• 500 grams of salt
• 4 cups of water
• Large container with a cover
Using a large pot, pour in the mixture of water and salt. Bring this to a boil over medium-high heat.
Stir the mixture until all the salt melts. Keep the mixture boiling until you notice salt crystals beginning to form around the walls of the pot. This happens when salt reaches its saturation point.
Remove the pot from the stove and allow your saltwater mixture to cool down.
Using your large glass container, carefully put your eggs inside.
Carefully pour the saltwater mixture with the salt crystals into the container until all the eggs are submerged.
Cover the glass container and store it in a cold and dark area of your kitchen.
A perfectly salted egg requires about 4 weeks to be kept submerged in the brine. This allows the flavor to seep into the eggs thoroughly. However, for some people who would want less salty eggs, you may opt to take them out of the storage around week 3.
Once you have taken the eggs out of the container, boil them for 10 minutes until they are perfectly hard-boiled. Allow them to cool down before removing the shell and serving.
